How we help
Get ready for these roles
We teach the core ledger, credit control, reconciliation and Excel skills these teams use. We can introduce property basics such as service charges and client money, so you understand the terms. Property software and the detail of leases are learned in the role.
Later on: With experience and further study, people can move into service charge accountant and property accountant roles.
Develop practical skills in bookkeeping, VAT, financial transactions and record management, giving you the knowledge and confidence to support day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
It's money collected from leaseholders or tenants towards costs such as maintenance, cleaning and insurance.
What is the 18-month rule for service charges?+
Under section 20B of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, tenants generally aren't liable for costs incurred more than 18 months before a demand, unless they were properly notified in time.
Is property a good sector for accounts assistants?+
It can be, particularly if you like detail. Adverts for assistant-level roles exist, although many ask for AAT study or some accounts experience.
